The Transcendental Meditation technique is taught in a seven-step course. The course starts with two lectures describing the benefits and how the technique works, followed by a short interview. These first three steps can be taken at any time and are free of charge. The last four steps are instruction in the Transcendental Meditation technique, which are always done over four consecutive days and include a course fee.
Step 1: Introductory Lecture
A vision of all possibilities through the Transcendental Meditation programme
(1 hour)
Step 2: Preparatory Lecture
The mechanics and origin of the Transcendental Meditation technique (1 hour)
Step 3: Personal Interview
Interview with a qualified teacher of the Transcendental Meditation programme right after the Preparatory Lecture (10-15 minutes)
Step 4: Personal Instruction
Learning the Transcendental Meditation technique (1-2 hours)
Step 5: First Day of Checking
Verifying the correctness of the practice and further instruction (1-2 hours)
Step 6: Second Day of Checking
Understanding the mechanics of the Transcendental Meditation technique from personal experiences (1-2 hours)
Step 7: Third Day of Checking
Understanding the mechanics of the development of higher states of consciousness (1-2 hours)
Follow-Up Program
Once you complete the seven-step course, you'll be invited to attend a group follow-up meeting, held about two weeks later. This meeting allows the teacher to check your meditation, provide you with additional knowledge based on your daily practice, and answer any questions you may have.
Transcedental Meditation can only be taught by a qualifed teacher. All teachers have been trained by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi.
